Simple mainstream cordless vacuum cleaners can make a good accessible option, as they avoid trip hazards and the hassle of changing plugs when moving room to room. Robotic vacuum cleaners iRobot or Neato can be convenient, especially for people whose visual impairment makes effective cleaning impractical. However, they do, of course, represent a potential trip hazard. The Which? website gives advice on both robotic and cordless vacuums.
Robot mops can be particularly useful for blind and partially sighted people, although they are currently quite expensive. Robot window cleaners also exist, although current devices don’t seem to have completely replaced the need for human labour.
